Heading 2

  1. When we were on the trail, we set the rules of action. Usually I watched the road, and the children moved away at a vocal distance in search of prey.

2. After finding antlers or skulls, I heard wild screams of joy, and then the children appeared on the trail to share their joy with me.

ANTLERS

My younger children have neither mobile phones, nor free access to the internet. There is no watching TV or playing video games either in our house… so …there is no peace. Quite the opposite - there is a constant search to answer the questions: what to do? Where to go? Who to meet with? And how to spend time? Children are energetic, curious of the world, and they want to discover it. When they get interested in something, they give it the whole mind.

My children’s recent passion has become collecting antlers and sculls of wild animals. So we drove through forests and parks, and children became experts in finding antlers and dead wild animals. From the Internet they learned how to dissect their skulls. It required a lot of persistence, because the smells accompanying this process were not the most pleasant. Then they arranged skulls and antlers everywhere in the house to enjoy the sight of them. It was a real feast for their eyes and an explosion of self-pride.

8. Many hours of boiling skulls was associated with enduring the unpleasant smell of carrion, which every household member was condemned to.

9. The effects of their own work have become a series of positive impressions: joy, pride, satisfaction with oneself and knowledge gained on the occasion. Above all, they strengthened the bonds between siblings and created shared memories. They deepened the need for cooperation, interdependence. The children experienced profound happiness and a sense of real satisfaction with their actions.
