
AUSCHWITZ BIRKENAU STATE MUSEUM
Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau
Duration: 3,5 -6 hours
Officially designated as a museum in 1947, Auschwitz was the largest Death Camp operated by Germans authorities during World War II. where Jews, Poles, Gypsies, Soviet prisoners of war, and citizens from 20 nations, were murdered. It holds deep importance for world Jewry as the place of the destruction of Europe’s Jewish communities, transported from occupied countries.
A short documentary will be shown before our tour of Auschwitz I. Afterward, we will visit Auschwitz I and then we will drive for 5 min. to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the larger camp known for its gas chambers and crematoria. Birkenau is a solemn site of mourning and remembrance.
Comfortable, conservative clothing is recommended for this visit.
